With its second edition, JOSEF Merano once again makes traditional travel guides obsolete. While the classic guides to South Tyrol may seem redundant, JOSEF Merano offers a new way to visit and experience the city of Merano and its surroundings through the eyes of an insider. More than a hundred pages are devoted to (future) hot spots and destinations for foodies and binge shoppers, for cultural connoisseurs and hospitality hedonists, for alpine adventurers and professional urban explorers. All to do what JOSEF has been embodying in a brilliant but laid-back, unconventional and authentic way: the region is about “more than apples and cows”.

JOSEF Merano owes its friendly attitude and sympathetic integrity to about a hundred recommendations from real insiders of the city and the region. In addition to the many insider tips, guest contributor and designer Martino Gamper invites you to cook ginger pasta, while the second guest Giorgia Lazzaretto takes you on a walk through her neighbourhood.

Susann Stefanizen, a talented graphic designer and illustrator based in Berlin, created the illustrations for this edition. She has worked with many well-known clients, including Studio Mut, who came up with the design concept for JOSEF. Studio BABAI also contributed to the project, working on the graphic design of the travel book.

There's nothing better than exploring a place through the eyes of a local insider! Swap your travel guides for a JOSEF travel book and become an insider, too. Rethink how you travel and explore your destination by exchanging your old city maps for our JOSEF travel maps. They'll take you through the independent makers and shops, as well as through the slow fashion highlights of Merano and South Tyrol.
