I like the freedom, the fact that you can make friends with people, I like being able to start and finish when it suits, connections you can make with passers by, being able to sing as loud or as quiet as you feel like, feeling like a bird just sitting on a branch making noise as nice as you can to make some nice noise… lots of things!

Lone Pigeon at the Brighton Freebutt in 2004: very intimate and a level of involvement with the songs and the audience which blew me away. Also: Arthur Lee playing Forever Changes… do I need to explain? Any Julian Cope show, because he often has face-paints and a spangly guitar.
