BUSK Singer Songwriter Festival is back!

On September 9th 2017 franzLAB is organizing the fifth edition of BUSK, the Singer Songwriter Festival that filled the centre of Bolzano with songs in the past 4 years. In this edition, BUSK will take place in the city of Merano.
12 musicians will be selected to spread their music in 8 locations of the historic center of Merano. Everyone can participate, local, regional and international artists. Our main goal is to bring quality street music to South Tyrol. Are you interested in taking part in this original, multi-faceted and multilingual festival? In order to select the 12 buskers, each participant has to fill up and send us the questionnaire below together with links to one or more original songs posted on Soundcloud, YouTube, Vimeo… and a high resolution photo of the musician(s).
Each participant will have a profile published on the site franzmagazine.com. Here is an example. 
This profile can be voted by our readers by clicking the facebook like button at the end of the article and the result will be added to a selection made by an expert group (consisting of musicians, music journalists and organizers of the Festival). 
During the festival each musician will be able to have a container for the collection of tips and a space to sell products (CDs, t-shirts … ).

Here are some simple guidelines you must follow to participate:
• the performance must be acoustic, that means without any amplification or other electronic devices.
• no covers allowed at any time – the artists have to play their own songs
• preference will be given to the performances with vocals and guitar, only original songs will be accepted
• the performance set has to last at least 1 hour – the buskers will change location every hour, following the established program of locations and time supplied by the organizers (no program changes are allowed without prior consent)
• the buskers are hosted (room and board) at the festival expenses and will receive a refund for their travel expenses
• artists must be present during the entire period of the festival (unless different previous agreement with organizers): Saturday September 9th, 09 –20 H with breaks throughout the day)
• the application must contain high-res photos and links to video or audio track
• all parts of the questionnaire below must be filled in (scroll down)

Es ist soweit. BUSK ist wieder da!

Am 9. September 2017 veranstaltet franzLAB zum 5. Mal BUSK. Nachdem das Singer-Songwriter Festival in den letzten vier Jahren die Menschen im Zentrum von Bozen begeistert hat, findet es heuer in Meran statt.
12 Musikerinnen und Musiker werden an 8 Punkten in der Altstadt von Meran ihre Musik spielen. Am Festival können alle teilnehmen: lokale, regionale und internationale Musiktreibende. Südtirol als Synonym für die Kunst und Vielfalt hervorragender Straßenmusik. Möchtest du Teil dieses einzigartigen, mehrsprachigen und vielseitigen Festivals werden? Alle Busker werden auf franzmagazine.com vorgestellt und müssen dafür untenstehenden Fragebogen vollständig ausfüllen und zusammen mit einen oder mehreren Links zu eignen Songs auf Soundcloud, YouTube, Vimeo usw. zusenden. Hier ein Beispiel.
Dieses Profil kann von den Leserinnen und Lesern mittels des Facebook-Buttons am Ende der Seite gevotet werden. Dieses Ergebnis bestimmt zusammen mit dem Voting der ExpertInnenrunde (bestehend aus MusikerInnen, MusikjournalistInnen und OrganisatorInnen), wer am 9. Wie es sich für echte Straßenmusik gehört, können alle Busker während des Festivals einen Hut oder etwas anderes aufstellen, damit das Publikum als Dankeschön für die wunderbare Musik Geld hinein werfen kann, und die eigenen CDs, Promo-Material (T-Shirts, Buttons…) verkaufen. 

Für die Teilnahme sind folgende Dinge zu beachten:
• Covers sind nicht erlaubt, auch nicht auf Wunsch des Publikums – die MusikerInnen müssen ihre eigenen Stücke spielen
• bevorzugt werden Performances mit Gitarre und Stimme, nur selbst komponierte Stücke sind erlaubt
• das Performance-Set muss mindestens 1 Stunde dauern – die Buskers werden jede Stunde Standort wechseln, in Rotation und nach einem vom Organisationsteam erstellten Plan mit Zeit und Ort (Programmänderung nur nach vorheriger Absprache)
• die Buskers sind Gäste: für Unterkunft und Verpflegung kommen die Organisatoren auf, Spesen für An- und Abreise werden rückerstattet 
• die MusikerInnen müssen während der gesamten Dauer des Festivals anwesend sein (außer anders mit den Organisatoren vereinbart): Samstag 9–20 H, mit Pausen dazwischen
• die Bewerbung muss ein Foto in hoher Auflösung und den Link zu einem Video oder zu einem Audio-Sample beinhalten

BUSK torna, per colorare con la musica la città di Merano! 

Il 9 settembre 2017, franzLAB organizza per la quinta volta BUSK, il Singer-Songwriter Festival nato a Bolzano, che quest’anno si sposta nella città di Merano.
Attraverso BUSK, la musica torna a risuonare fuori dalle sale da concerto per animare le vie e le piazze cittadine con proposte musicali alternative. Un evento unico, nel quale la varietà artistica diventa punto di contatto diretto tra Merano e la musica di strada di qualità.
12 musicisti selezionati suoneranno la loro musica in 8 location del centro storico di Merano. Tutti possono partecipare: artisti altoatesini, regionali, nazionali e internazionali.

Per la selezione dei buskers che parteciperanno al Festival ogni candidato deve inviare il seguente questionario compilato in tutte le sue parti, una selezione di link a una o più canzoni pubblicate su SoundCloud, Youtube, Vimeo etc e una foto in alta risoluzione.
Ad ogni concorrente verrà dedicato un profilo su franzmagazine.com. Qui un esempio.
La selezione sarà fatta da un gruppo di esperti (musicisti, giornalisti musicali e organizzatori del Festival) a cui si aggiungerà la votazione online via Facebook.
Durante il Festival, ogni musicista potrà posizionare il proprio “cappello” per la raccolta fondi e organizzare uno spazio per vendere i propri prodotti (cd, t-shirt…).

Per partecipare, ogni band o musicista deve conoscere e seguire alcune semplicissime indicazioni:
• la performance deve essere acustica, ovvero senza amplificazione e/o apparecchiatura elettronica
• le cover di brani sono vietate – gli artisti devono suonare brani propri originali
• saranno privilegiate le formazioni composte da voce e chitarra, con esecuzione di brani propri originali
• il performance set deve almeno durare 1 ora – i buskers cambieranno location ogni ora seguendo un programma con orari e location indicato dagli organizzatori (cambi di programma non sono ammessi salvo diversi accordi con gli organizzatori)
• i busker sono ospitati (vitto e alloggio) a spese dell’organizzazione e ricevono un rimborso spese per il viaggio
• i busker devono essere presenti, salvo diversi accordi con gli organizzatori, per tutta la durata della manifestazione (Sabato 9 Settembre 2017,  09–20 H, naturalmente con pause durante la giornata)
• la candidatura deve contenere foto ad alta risoluzione e link a tracce audio o video di un proprio brano
• il questionario sottostante deve essere compilato in ogni sua parte
